A splash of nostalgic stirrers and picks decked out page 29 of Martha Stewart’s Living’s August issue. The majority of the items pictured were made by Spirit. The one-pager highlighted the collectible attributes of beverage accessories today and from years gone by.

Because custom swizzle sticks have traditionally been found at better bars or clubs, customers often keep them as a memento of their special evening or experience. Over the years they’ve become popular collectible items—especially those belonging to establishments that no longer exist or to nostalgic locations such as a theater where Elvis once played. Just ask the members of the International Swizzle Stick Collectors Association (ISSCA) who have regular conventions to swap and talk about their hobby.
